Religious Beliefs Barkhan
The inhabitants of Barkhan are Muslims. They follow the common Muslim culture. They belong to the Sunni sect and many of them say their prayers regularly. Syed, Sheikh and Mullahs are respected. The majority of the people is uneducated, has superstitious beliefs and follow old tribal customs which contradict religious teachings, particularly with regard to attitudes towards women. Notable festivals are Eid-ul-Fitre and Eid-ul-Azaha.
