Water charges are usually imposed by the agency which supplies the water, in some cases it is the town/municipal committee, in other cases it is the PHE Department of the provincial government. Similarly, sanitation fee is charged either by the town committee or municipal committee. Octroi and zila tax are imposed and collected by local bodies. Property tax and land revenue is charged by the provincial government. Tax on coal is charged by the district council, whereas their royalties and concessions are charged by the provincial government. Income tax and custom duty are levied by the federal government.
