The data and other information provided in this District Profile so far, reflected the situation in Pishin district itself. It was not put in relation to the situation in other districts or in the province as a whole. To add that perspective, 32 indicators have been selected on which the districts are compared. These indicators can be found in the table on the following two pages. Each district is ranked on each of the indicators. The comparative position of Pishin district with regard to the 32 indicators is given in the graphic presentation on the third page; it is a bottom-up ranking: position nr. 1 means lowest score on that indicator, position nr. 26 means highest score. It was not tried to come to an overall ranking of the districts, since that would have required a certain weight-age for each of the indicators.

The table shows that Pishin is a relatively small district with a relatively high population density (nr. 22 in ranking but still only 53 persons per square kilometer). The estimated average population growth rate is lower than the average for the whole of the province.

Pishin scores comparatively well as far as agricultural production is concerned. A relatively large area is cultivated, while the production value is high (due to the production of fruits), both in total and per capita.

The number of livestock is about average, which implies, with a view on the size of the district, a relatively high density.

The indicators in the education sector show high enrollment figures (the district is on the top of the list with regard to enrolment of boys related to the population). The district takes a middle position regarding the m/f ratio in primary education, while the number of pupils/teacher ratio is relatively high for boys and low for girls.

The data on the health sector point to a relatively good infrastructure (population per bed is low), while the numbers of doctors is low (population per doctor is high). The district has the lowest score in the province with regard to m/f ratio of paramedical staff (which means a relatively large number of female staff).

Thirteen percent of the population is covered by water supply schemes, which gives the district a middle position.

The density of both metalled roads and shingle roads is relatively high. For shingle roads it is even the highest in Balochistan.
