Prior to 1975 Killa Abdulla was part of Pishin district. Due to administrative reasons Killa Abdullah was separated from Pishin and was made a new District on 14th June, 1993. The District also consist of one tehsil (Chaman) and two sub-tehsils: Dobandi and Gulistan. The district consists of two sub-divisions: Chaman and Gulistan.
