Jhall Magsi district is divided into A and B area. The A area is limited to the police station of Gandawah. This police station covers hardly 65 sq.km. The rest of the district falls under the category of the B area, which is divided into seven levies thanas. These thanas are controlled by the administrative officers of the respective area like, Naib-tehsildar, Tehsildar, Sub-District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner. When any crime happens in this area, it is investigated by the levies. The one in charge of a levies thana is responsible for law and order in the respective thana.

Criminal justice is provided by the two SDMs of Gandawah and Jhall Magsi respectively. Appeals regarding their decisions are submitted in the court of the Session Judge at Allah Yar and then to the Additional Session Judge at Usta Muhammad. Civil cases are forwarded to Qazi court at Bhag.

The general condition of law and order in Jhall Magsi is satisfactory. However, there are tribal feuds and enmities, in which many lives are lost every year. These feuds cannot be controlled due to the ineffective administrative set-up. The area is safe for travelling, for both nationals and foreigners. This travelling is safe, due to tribal customs and traditions, which are based on hospitality.
