Mining Jhall Magsi
There is no representative of Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) of the Directorate of Mineral Development at the district level. No mining activity is visible in the district. Besides, no survey report regarding the availability of oil, gas etc. has been published. Twenty percent of the total area of Jhall Magsi district is a hilly area which forms part of Kirthar mountain range. The local people are hopeful regarding the presence of different minerals in the district. Sometimes they indicate different mountains for different minerals. However this is a layman’s opinion. The district actually needs, an in depth geological survey before any mining activity can be proposed.
