Possession of fire arms by men is a tribal tradition and sometimes a need for security due to rivalries among the members of different tribes. Almost all the people possess weapons in the rural areas, while in the urban areas of the district only the tribal chiefs and the notable persons keep sophisticated arms such as rifles, kalashnikovs, etc. Most of the arms are unlicensed and usually go unchecked. The easy availability of sophisticated arms has resulted in a law and order problem.
