Fuel wood, bush wood, and dung cake are the main sources of fuel used for cooking by the local population. Three percent of housing units use gas cylinders. For the purpose of lighting, kerosene and electricity are used by 60 percent and 40 percent of the housing units respectively. During winter fuel wood, bush wood and dung cake are also used for heating purposes. The district has no piped gas supply.
