Kalat has very limited mineral resources. Marble and fluorite are the main minerals in the area, calcite is also available in small quantities. Fine quality marble seems to be available, but it is unexplored. According to the experts, these minerals are uneconomical and the cost of exploration is higher than its market value, except fluorite which had been mined by the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) for a long time on commercial basis.
